Marble Surface

Introduction to AI

In this class, you will explore the fascinating world of AI and its practical applications. You'll learn the basics of AI and things like supervised and unsupervised learning, how it's used in everyday life, and more! No laptop and no prior experience required.

Grades: 4+

In this class, you will learn fun projects like slime and pom-poms. Beginners and anyone new to crafting will be able to improve their skills and imagination! This class will give students an opportunity to exercise their creativity in a classroom setting.

Craft Shack

Human Body - A Biomachine

This class aims to cover the different human body systems and the function of each. Each system will be covered in detail, going over the various organs and cells involved in each, and every class a new system will be introduced. The following systems will be covered: skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, cardiovascular, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, and the urinary system.

Introduction to Chemistry

This class aims to cover an introduction to the subject of chemistry. Each topic will be covered in detail, going over the composition and structure of atoms, the organization of the Periodic Table, three types of chemical bonds, and chemical equations and formulas, and to bring it all together, fun Kahoots as well!

Who Wants to be a Millionaire? — An Introduction to Finance

This class aims to cover an overview of personal finance and aspects of business, such as budgeting, saving, managing credit, investing, and paying for college, and topics from the business model canvas, such as customer segments, value propositions, and revenue streams. Paired with a few fun Kahoots and other games, this class will leave you ready to be a millionaire!

Exploring our Universe and Solar System

Instructor: Shrinika Kalbhavi

Grades: 1-6

This class is about the universe and the Solar System! In this class you will learn about several kinds of topics relating to how our Solar System works. Also, about planet Earth, and what features it consists of. Along with learning about the Solar System, we will explore if there is any kind of life on the other planets, and how scientists are researching to find life. Along with these, we will also explore our universe and solar system with some exciting Kahoots! In this class, everyone will be able to interact with each other as well as being free to ask any questions and participate.        

Game Development

Instructor: Kabir

Grades: 4 - 6

In this game development class, we will discover how game development works and will be using some tools to find that. We will be using unity, a game-development app that is very popular, to see just how game development works. We will dive into the creativeness, the thought, the planning that goes into each game. We will also create our very own game, using unity and Visual Studio Code version 2019, which will be downloaded from unity itself. You will need a laptop for this class that can download around 16-17 GB.

Math Olympiad/Math Kangaroo

Grades: 4 - 6

Sharpen your math skills by learning and solving fun math problems together using logic and in turn prepare yourself for competitions like Math Olympiad and Math Kangaroo.

Introduction to Java

Instructor: Gautam

Grades: 4+

The class will be an introduction to programming through Java. It will cover variables, conditional statements, loops, math and logical operators, and all the basics you need to start in Java. After the course you will be able to code fun small useful programs.

Basics of Algebra

Instructor: Amvi

Grades: 1 - 6

 This course will cover how to identify patterns (so how to notice that a problem can be solved in an easier way by grouping numbers, canceling terms, etc). It will cover fractions/decimals/percents (what they are, how they're used, and how to convert from one to another). Lastly, I'll go over some word problems and will make some kahoots for them to practice and engage.

Introduction to Neuroscience

Instructor: Ruben

Grades: 4+

Explore the world of neuroscience, the inner communication system. The course will offer a stimulating learning experience across various concepts and principles in the field of neuroscience. Through this course, students will be able to build a basic understanding of topics such as Nervous system, parts of the brain, how emotions are created and how memory works. Each day will cover one area with a kahoot game for the students.

Web Development

Instructor: Kabir

Grades: 4 - 6

Here students will learn the 3 main coding languages necessary for web dev. They will learn how to use those languages, along with some more information on how more languages can be used in web development. They will have a start in web development and will now be able to do web development with some knowledge about how things work.

AMC8/Mathcounts Preparation

Instructor: Drishti

Grades: 4+

This course will cover 5 main topics that prepare kids for the AMC 8 contest- Algebra, Geometry, Combinatorics, Number Theory and Probability. Kids will learn concepts and solve problems based on them that will help them clear the AMC 8 and MathCounts exam. This class is good for all 5th-8th grade students who have genuine interest in competition math. 

Introduction to Calligraphy

Instructor: Sneha

Grades: 4-6

We will go over the basics of calligraphy and how each stroke is made with each stroke of a pen. You don't need anything fancy for this class and you will learn a lot.

Art

Instructor: Srinjoyi

Grades: 1-6

 I will teach art using simple shapes. The drawings will range from simple drawings to perhaps more complicated flowers and sceneries. Mild shading will be taught, though the students will be encouraged to do their own thing.

Geometry

Instructor: Srinjoyi

Grades: 4+

Geometry will consist of theorems, postulates, and proofs. The level of math will be 8th-grade-ish, so it's okay if the students don't understand it completely at first. I will be free to answer any questions during class for that reason, and I won't go very fast when teaching the lessons each day.

Introduction to Algebra

Grades: 4+

Introduction to algebra focusing on the essential concepts and ensuring students grasp the foundational elements.   Following topics will be covered   Day 1: Basic Concepts and Operations Day  2: Solving Linear Equations Day 3: Inequalities and Functions Day 4: Graphing and Polynomials Day 5: Factoring and Applications

AMC8 Preparation

Instructor: Tanish 

Grades: 4+

I will cover basic concepts and problem solving strategies for problems that would come in AMC8. I will cover Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, and Combinatorics problems that occur in AMC8.

Introduction to Spanish

Instructor: Sneha

Grades: 4-6

We will go over the foundation of learning Spanish including the basics of grammar and uses and scenarios. You will learn how to address yourself as well as others and objects and speak simple sentences.

Folk Dance

Instructor: Srinjoyi

Grades: 1+

 I will choreograph dances to popular Hindi songs. Each class, I will teach a part of the choreography of the song until we have learnt the whole dance by the end of the 1st session. The classes will start off with reviewing the steps learnt in the previous class, just so that everything is clarified..

Introduction to 2nd Grade Math

Grades: 1-3

We will begin with addition and subtraction of large numbers from 20 to 100. We will move on to counting and understanding money and telling time. We will also learn about basic geometry and if we have time, we will cover measurement as well.

Creative Writing

Instructor: Srivalli

Grades: 1+

Students will unleash their creativity and imagination to create captivating stories. This class will explore storytelling elements such genres, plots, settings, and literary devices to refine their writing skills.

Introduction to Scratch Programming

Grades: 4+

Students will learn the basics of Scratch programming. 

Introduction to Biology

Grades: 4+

 We will begin with learning about genetics and then move on to the evolution of humans and animals. Afterwards, we will talk about the history of earth and life and then end by talking about ecology.

Chess Explorers

Instructor: Aarav

Grades: 1+

We will learn the basics of chess for the first couple of days. Then, we will learn some strategies on how to play the game. Towards the end, we will start playing games and putting the strategies in practice. 

Introduction to French

Instructor: Rishita

Grades: 4+

In this class students will learn introductory French concepts. The course will cover pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and introductory conversational skills. The course will spark curiosity in the students through a brief immersion in the language and will lay the groundwork for further exploration.

Calligraphy

Instructor: Srivalli

Grades: 1+

This class will delve into the art of lettering. Students will discover various lettering styles and techniques. They will create calligraphy art pieces in which they unleash their creativity!

Genetics

This class will give you an introduction to Genetics.

Python

Grades: 7+

My name is Sukhtej Singh. I study at Irvington High School. I am interested in the field of Computers since middle school when in my STEM class I learned Engineering Design. I have done courses in Java, Python, App development , HTML CSS and javascript and am constantly striving to add more . Presently I am into robotics, game design, 3D printing, building PC, and quantum computing. I am an avid reader. I learned Python and Java during CSP and CSA courses and would love to apply my learnings  by teaching middle school student Python.

App Development

I am Sukhtej Singh, a student of Irvington high school. I am deeply interested in all aspects of Computer be it software or hardware. Computing offers opportunities for creativity and innovation. Solving complex problems and coming up with creative solutions excites me. If solving puzzles, thinking logically, and being creative is your cup of tea, here you go, App development will help you sharper these skills in App development. My App development class is for beginners and I am very enthusiastic to share my knowledge.
